Caroline Lillelund holds an MSc in Anthropology from University of Copenhagen. Regionally, she is specialized in South Asia and has conducted long term ethnographic fieldworks on issues of identity, political mobilization and material culture among Dalit groups in South India in 2003 and 2007. Since 2001, she has worked for extended periods as an assistant curator in the National Museum of Denmark. As participant of the Tranquebar Initative of the National Museum, she has collected a large collection of contemporary ethnographic artefacts from Tranquebar, the former Danish trading station in South India and published on identity and material culture among Dalits in the Tranquebar area.
Caroline Lillelund is responsible for the India chapter of the Global Europe project.
